Tires, Brakes, and Ride Feel Checks

How to inspect tire pressure, flats, brake feel, rubbing, and ride-safety concerns on used and open-box scooters.

Tires and brakes are two of the most important first-ride checks on any used, open-box, refurbished, or tested-return scooter. They also create many support questions because they are partly safety items and partly normal maintenance items.

Tire checks

  • Check the manufacturer-recommended pressure for the exact model and tire.
  • Inspect tread, sidewalls, valve stems, cuts, bulges, and punctures.
  • Do not judge pressure by squeezing the tire with your fingers.
  • Recheck pressure after storage, cold weather, or long shipping time.

Brake checks

  • Test brake lever feel before riding.
  • Listen for scraping, grinding, or rubbing.
  • Stop riding if braking feels weak, delayed, uneven, or unpredictable.
  • Check whether the wheel spins freely when the brake is released.

Warranty note

Tires, flats, punctures, tread wear, brake pads, cosmetic wear, normal wear, user damage, crash damage, water damage, and misuse are not covered by EcoHive's 30-day electronic-components-only warranty.

When to contact support

Send your order number, model, tire/brake photos, display photos, and a short safe video of the symptom. Do not ride while filming.
